Who are we?
We are a small, established Irish company, leading the way in true luxury, handmade furniture, joinery and cabinetry. We take what we do very seriously, approaching our work with the utmost care.
We work with consideration and sympathetically, with exquisitively chosen materials. Our team of artisans produce some of the finest woodwork in the country.
What makes us different? We care. Enormously.
If we undertake a project for you, it has our full attention. Rest assured we will not be juggling your project with a myriad of other jobs. We approach our work with pride, without haste and always, without compromise.
Our Story
The catalyst for our business was born out of a reaction to the luxury kitchens, furniture and interiors market in Ireland. This market seemed to rely on mediocre design and mechanised, soulless mass-production. The use of sub-standard materials, and sub-standard work practices, coupled with an overall lack of professionalism.
The team at Glendalough Studio are genuinely excited about the work we choose to do every day, passionate about heritage and proud to call ourselves true craftspeople and professionals. We care about the state of the trade that we’ve chosen as well as the next generation entering the industry. This is why we work with secondary schools, offering an opportunity for young people to realise their creative and practical potential within an often narrowing and academic-only focused curriculum.
Our workshop is located in the beautiful mountainous landscape of Wicklow, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Our environment inspires our work daily, fueling creativity and bolstering our ambition; to create the finest handmade pieces for the client who truly understands and appreciates quality, craftmanship and originality.
The Way We Work
Our studio is made up of artisans.
Design is an important part of what we do, however designers cannot fully understand the true potential or the practical application of fine joinery and handmade furniture in the way a true artisan and craftsperson can. We Listen. Conceptualise. Test. Make. Fit. That is what real craftspeople do.
Forging a genuine relationship with our clients, together with our deep understanding of period architecture as well as contemporary furniture is central to our offering.
